It is focused on the opinions of workers regarding the practical feasibility of placing vulnerable children under the age of 3 outside of institutional care, in connection with the amendment to Act 359/1999 Coll. on the social-legal protection of children. As part of the interviews with the informants, it was also determined what "good care" means in their opinion and whether infant institutions can fulfill it. This thesis compares the Ústí Region and Prague and maps whether there are different opinions between them regarding the amendment of the law. Host care in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis is focused on host care in the Czech Republic. The first chapter deals with attachment and its explanation. The second chapter describes alternative care in the Czech Republic. The list of alternative care forms and types of institutional care are included in this part. The third chapter is focused on host care and its legislative framework, forms, advantages, risks and the process of host care mediation. In the fourth chapter there are introduced specific examples of host care. The fifth chapter describes the survey methodology focused on host care. The sixth chapter contains thequestionnaire survey assessment. To define the issue, the author uses specialized literature aimed at substitutional family care and host care, Czech laws (i.e. Social-legal protection of the children law, Civil code, the law of institutional care accomplishment). She also derives from websites occupied by host care, such as civic association Děti patří domů, The Centre for Adoption and Foster Care. The aim is to verify theoretical facts followed from specialized sources and the description of host care in the Czech Republic.

The process of endorsement of applicants for the adoption

Anotation: This work is dedicated to substitutional family care, especially adoption. It engages in comparation of institutional and family care, motivation for being parents, types of substitutional family care, adoption, its history, types, biological an psychological points of view and other aspects. The main subject is the process of endorsement of applicants for adoption that is compulsory for all applicants who decided to adopt a child. I analyzed the whole process and its particular parts. In the research I made an analyzis of experience of the applicants with this process. The last part of the work includes profiles of six families that show differences of the applicants and their family background.

Temporary Foster Care in the Czech Republic and its Situation as a Result of Political Changes

Bachelor thesis "Temporary foster care in the Czech republic and its situation as a result of legislative changes" deals with current situation of foster care after amendment of Act of Child protection, which came into force in 2013. First part is aimed to explaining terms, which are necessary for the work. Descriptive part deals with foster care description, because foster care and temporary foster share a lot of characteristics. Descriptive part is also aimed to the temporary foster care. There is explained, what this type of family care means and who is designed for. It also defines, which condition must interested person fulfill, to become foster parent. Insignificant part of the work are also financial conditions of both types of foster care. Analytical part is aimed to foster parents and professionals opinions. Essential part is these people opinion about the amendment. It is researched if the situation after amendment was improved, and if conditions of foster care are now better or worse. Another part is aimed to opinions of temporary foster care. There is discovered if it was well established, if there is place for improvement and if there is a lot of people, who are interested in temporary foster care.

A journey of a child from own family to a foster family - Substitute family care in the Czech republic

The diploma thesis "A journey of a child from own family to a foster family - Substitute family care in the Czech republic" deals with the problematics of substitute family care focusing on foster family care. Institutional education is being taken into account as well, since it represents one of the possibilities of a child's placement out of own family. Because it is a priority and for the good of a child to grow up in a family environment, institutional education should be used only as the last possible solution. The Czech republic has been often criticised for having too high amount of children growing up in institutions and for infringing the rights arising from the Convention on the Rights of the Child. In this context foster family care and possible establishment of professional foster family care has currently been discussed in the Czech republic. Even the nowaday's system of foster family care is not spared from criticism. The solution for this system of care for children without family background inheres in establishment of professional foster family care which allows children, who cannot grow up in their bilogical families and who are not (for legal or actual reasons) suitable for adoption, to grow up in family environment. Possibilities of increasing interest in foster care in the Czech Republic

For most people, family represents a place where they feel safe and loved. But not everyone is lucky enough to have a place like this, to have a functional family. If the biological family does not work as it should and a baby is threatened in some way, the state has several options to help the child. If there are solvable problems in the family, the state can try to help it by various interventions to improve the situation. But if these actions do not help and the child is forced to leave this family, it is necessary to ensure alternative environment for baby. The child can either be placed in institutional care, or to substitutional family care. Considering the shortcomings of institutional care, various forms of substitutional care are mainly supported. Probably the best known form of substitutional care is adoption. In the case of adoption, baby becomes the member of new family and relationships between child and his biological family vanishes. This form is only possible for a small percentage of abandoned children, because most of them still has some kind of relationship with biological family.
